Balustrades and railings in cement.
The BALUSTRADES concrete are very simple structures consisting of several elements, usually also in concrete, with the aim to define the edge of a balcony, a terrace or a green area.
As you can see even from the technical side balustrades are made up of several components, each with a specific function.
The elements of BALUSTRADES are: base, columns, balusters, handrail and handrail higher than the pan.
Starting from the bottom, we find the “BASE”, which is fixed firmly to the slab has the dual function of providing support to all the columns and by means of grooves formed at the base, to drain the rainwater.
Though it has a purely functional purpose the base may, however, have a section similar to that of the handrail.
The “COLUMNS” are the most decorative of the whole BALUSTER, their choice must be functional to the style of the property. The price of a column depends heavily on the need to prepare a mold from scratch, or by the ability to adapt to existing models.
The “PILLARS” are called to a more structural function, since, being firmly fixed to the slab / floor provide support for the handrail, once installed, will start from inside the iron bars that connect the entire BALUSTER.
The “HANDRAIL PAN” rests on pillars and columns and by means of holes allows the fixing of the latter. Being its shape vashetta, allows the passage of the above iron bars that will be subsequently covered with a layer of cement.
The “TOP RAIL” has a decorative function as it serves to cover the casting of concrete inside the handrail to the pan. Its outer contour usually repeats that of the sills or the string course.
The balustrades are made of gray cement and it is normal lasciarne to view the sealing / grouting. However, a BALUSTER painted, it is definitely better protected from the elements.
Compliance with the rules regarding the height of a balustrade is very important, usually should not be less than one meter, we advise you to check the municipal regulation.
